Schmooze 11 Jewish Culture Conference

The annual IJPA Schmooze Jewish Culture Conference is a South By Southwest must attend event for the Jewish arts and culture/entertainment community. It is strategically linked to the prestigious Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) for sharing concerns, participating in high-level conversations about Jewish culture, booking talent, marketing events, developing audiences, securing funding, and viewing showcases of leading and cutting-edge Jewish artists. Featuring provocative discussions, inspiring speakers and art bursts with more than forty presenters and artists from theater, film, literary arts and more, Schmooze creates a space for the world of Jewish artists and presenters world to gather on an annual basis to discover new work, for colleagues to find jobs, for collaborators to find each other, to connect artists with grants and venues, and help connect young professionals with mentors.Previous keynote addresses have been given by Frederick Brenner, Theodore Bikel, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Daniel Libeskind and Irwin Kula. It is capped by nightly three-day Oy!hoo Music Festival performances in NYC. This is where presenters, artists, funders, and writers come together to schmooze, enjoy, get inspired and do business. This means you. With the recent unprecedented cancellation of major conferences such as the Coalition for Advancement in Jewish Education (CAJE) due to the financial downturn, Schmooze is even more relevant to our community.
